Lässig, humorvoll und auch mal zweistimmig oder vierhändig werden bekannte und unbekannte Gewässer deutscher und internationaler Chansons der 1920er-1950er Jahre abenteuerlustig durchfahren. Texte und Gedichte entführen in exotische Gefilde irgendwo zwischen Hamburg und Haiti.

Spazier mit uns am Strand entlang,

lass dir das Haar vom Wind zersausen, schmeck die salzige Seeluft.

Kehr in einer Hafenkneipe ein und hör die Geschichten die man dort erzählt:

von Liebe und Sehnsucht, von Abschied und Aufbruch, von Rückkehr und von fiesen Seeräubern.

Lass die Beine von der Kaimauer baumeln und hab genau wie wir Fernweh.

Das Chansonprogramm lädt ein zu einer musikalischen Entdeckungsreise über die Liebe, die Seefahrt und die Sehnsucht nach der Ferne.

Mit Spielfreude, Energie und Fingerspitzengefühl haucht Johanna von Kuczkowski Klassikern der 1920/30er Jahre (u.a. B.Brecht/K.Weill) neues Leben ein, begeistert mit Rezitation (Texte u.a. J.Ringelnatz) im Hamburger Slang und entführt in exotische Gefilde irgendwo zwischen Hamburg und Haiti.

Von Peter A. Rodekuhr authentisch zeitgenössisch arrangierte Perlen deutscher und internationaler Komponisten der 1920er-50er Jahre verweben die Künstler*innen mit Texten und Gedichten zu einem atmosphärisch dichten Abend, ein Abend voll von Sehnsucht, Liebe und Meeresrauschen.

The Duo Johanna von Kuczkowski (Vocals) and Peter A. Rodekuhr (Piano) invites you to join them on a musical journey about love, seafaring and the yearning for distant places. Charming, humorous and even sometimes with two voices or four hands, well-known and unkown waters of german and international Chansons of the 1920s-50s are adventurously crossed.

With spirit, energy and great intuition the Hamburg born singer Johanna von Kuczkowski revives the famous songs of the 1920s by Kurt Weill/ Bertolt Brecht (e.g. „Der Matrosensong“, „Song von Mandelay“, „Surabaya Johnny“), recites in the authentic Hamburg harbour city slang and takes you to exotic places somewhere between Hamburg and Haiti with her warm alto voice.

Musical pearls by german and international composers of the 1920-50s are authentically arranged by Peter A. Rodekuhr and weaved together with excerpts and poems e.g. of Berlin 1920s author Joachim Ringelnatz into a highly athmospheric evening; an evening full of yearning, love and the sound of the sea.
